What You're Actually Getting

This is a big inflatable ring, mate. Ninety-nine centimetres across, shaped like a donut, bright colours, job done. No cupholders, no built-in headrest, no clever valve system. Just a chunky vinyl float that you blow up and plonk yourself in.

At under five quid, the expectations basically set themselves.

Who This Is For

Kids, mostly. Picture a sunny Saturday, a garden paddling pool, and a seven-year-old refusing to get out of the water. This is that float. It also works nicely in a shallow hotel pool if you are travelling light and do not want to pay airport prices for inflatables on holiday.

Personally, I would not trust it for deeper water with adults who are not strong swimmers. It is a pool toy, not a safety device. The name "Lifesaver" is purely decorative, let us be clear about that.

Honest Reservations

The vinyl on budget Intex products can feel a bit thin, and seams are where these things tend to fail after a few uses. At £4.61 you are not buying something for the ages. Also worth noting: no pump is included, so if you do not already own one, budget for that separately or prepare your lungs.

That said, the HotUKDeals community heat on this one is real. Over 700 degrees of warmth from people who are notoriously hard to impress. For a single summer season, or a holiday top-up buy, it is not half bad at all.
