The pitch is simple, and it mostly holds up
A full HD IPS screen, 15.6 inches, USB-C and HDMI both supported, magnetic cover doubles as a stand. For around forty quid. Honestly, when I first saw it listed I assumed something would be obviously broken about it. Colour accuracy binned, viewing angles terrible, build quality like a cereal box. Not quite.
The IPS panel is the real saving grace here. Colours are decent, the viewing angle is fine for a side-by-side setup, and 1080p on a screen this size is perfectly sharp for most use. It's not going to replace a proper desktop display, but that's not the point.
I've been using a similar portable monitor setup when I visit family and need to actually get work done on a cramped kitchen table. Having that second screen for reference docs or a video call changes everything. The built-in kickstand and magnetic cover mean you're not faffing about with a separate case or propping it up against a mug.
Who should skip this
Colour-critical work, photo editing, anything where accuracy matters. The panel is competent, not calibrated. Also worth knowing: USB-C single-cable power-and-display depends on your laptop supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode, so check that before you buy.
If you're a student, a remote worker who travels, or just someone who wants a cheap second screen without a load of faff, this is a solid shout. The community heat it's picked up is earned. Not flashy, not perfect, but genuinely useful at this price.
