Who actually needs this
Look, if you're a specialty coffee snob grinding single-origin beans at dawn, this isn't for you. But if you're someone who genuinely enjoys a coffee in the evening and your body simply won't let you have caffeine past 4pm anymore, Gold Blend Decaf is not half bad. My partner switched to decaf last year, proper reluctantly, and this is the one she kept buying back.
The taste is noticeably smoother than standard instant, a little less sharp. Not going to pretend it's a flat white from your local. But as a mug on the sofa at 9pm, it does the job without the hollow, almost dusty flavour you get from cheaper decaf options.
The price, plainly
At £3.00 on Subscribe and Save (with the voucher applied), this is solid value for 190g of decent instant. You're getting roughly 95 cups if you measure properly, which almost nobody does. Still, it works out well below most comparable decaf options in Tesco or Sainsbury's.
One honest reservation: Subscribe and Save means committing to repeat deliveries. If you forget to cancel or adjust, you'll end up with a cupboard full of decaf tins. Set a reminder, sort yourself out.
Is the hype warranted
Nearly 1,000 degrees of community heat on HotUKDeals suggests plenty of people think so. Personally, I'd say yes, but only if decaf is already on your shopping list. Don't buy it to "try going decaf" and then abandon it after a week. For regular decaf drinkers, though, this is the kind of deal worth grabbing.
