The Problem It's Solving
You know the smell. That warm, slightly sweet, deeply unpleasant waft that hits you when you lift the kitchen bin lid. It's not exactly a crisis, but it's grim enough that you find yourself holding your breath every time. Bin Buddy is a powder deodoriser, not a spray, not a liner. You just sprinkle a bit in the bottom of the bin and let it get on with things.
How It Actually Performs
Honestly, it works better than I expected for the price. The granules absorb moisture at the bottom of the bin, which is where most of the smell actually comes from, that damp residue that collects even through a bag. After a couple of days with a light dusting in there, the difference was noticeable. Not perfumed-into-oblivion noticeable, just... less offensive. Quietly effective.
The scent itself is faintly citrus-y, not overpowering. That's a good thing. I've tried other products that smell worse than the bin problem they're fixing.
Who This Is and Isn't For
If you're already rigorous about rinsing food packaging, emptying the bin every two days, and generally running a tight ship, you probably won't feel much difference. This is for the rest of us. Busy households, hot summers, anyone who's ever forgotten a prawn shell wrapped in a plastic bag at the bottom of the kitchen bin for a week.
At under three quid for 450g, the value is spot on. My only reservation is that the tub doesn't reseal brilliantly, so keep it somewhere dry. Minor gripe, but worth knowing.
